My Packing List & Entry Requirements for Iceland 2021

Trip length: 2 weeks
Entry Requirements: Travelers must be FULLY VACCINATED & present a negative Covid-19 Test taken within 72hrs of departure.

My mission was to pack as many things as possible into my Osprey Farpoint 55 pack since I only wanted to bring one carry-on bag.

What I packed:

Binax Now Rapid Covid Test Kits – These are the test kits I will be using to allow for re-entry back to the USA. I plan on testing via telehealth 72hrs prior to my return flight. I bought these for a few reasons: 1- It’s more convenient than having to find a testing site and taking time out of our vacation to go test. All you need is a phone with a data connection. 2- It’s actually cheaper at around $33/per kit. 3) The entire testing process takes less than 15 minutes.

These kits can be purchased through eMed’s website here. 6 kits for $150 OR through optum which has 3 kits for $100. I actually ended up buying my kits through optum since I couldn’t check-out through eMed’s website.

1 pack Wilderness Wipes
1 pack Breezeo Laundry Detergent Strips (I packed a few sheets for easy laundry at campsites)
1 pack Washawaze Dissolving Soap Sheets.
1 Platypus Ultralight Collapsible Water Bottle

For clothing I packed:

A few pairs of good quality socks – merino wool socks
A nice rain jacket – mine is Black Diamond Fineline Rain Shell
A nice warm weather jacket – Uniqlo Ultra Light Down Compact Jacket
A week’s worth of underwear/t-shirts (I plan on doing laundry once about halfway through my trip) & 2x shirts, 2x Pants
Don’t forget your swim trunks for all those hot springs!

My Camera Equipment
1x DSLR w/ Tripod & Gorilla Grip
1x GoPro Hero 9 with a few mounts
1x DJI Mavic Mini Drone

That’s it! See you in Iceland!
