It’s official. I’m going to be crossing Iceland off of my bucket list come August. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today as I was checking my emails, I saw a deal to Iceland from Scott’s Cheap Flights (highly recommend the newsletter btw.. they’ve saved me so much money on flights). Anyways, the deal was for tickets to Iceland via Iceland air for around $230! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first thing I did was check the entry requirements for Iceland. Turns out that Iceland is open to vaccinated Americans as of April 6th, 2021. Since both of us are fully vaccinated, we’re exempt from any testing or quarantining requirements. Winner, winner h\u00c3\u00a1karl dinner. I’ve been wanting to go to a touristy destination this year to avoid the crowd (much like our trip to Turkey last year) so this was perfect. Hopefully there won’t be as many tourists going to Iceland as usual by the time August comes around. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Only problem is, we’re currently in Topeka and Fayfay’s assignment is ending soon and we’re moving to Chapel Hill. To make things more complicated, we would be going to Iceland in August when Fayfay’s next assignment ends, but we’re not sure where we would be flying out of. Do we leave everything in Chapel Hill for a few weeks while we go to Iceland or do we drive back to WI and leave our stuff there and fly out of Chicago? What do we do with the three cats? Ugh, so much to think about. I decided on buying tickets out of JFK airport because it was the cheapest option and then I will probably buy another set of domestic tickets later from wherever we end up. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The grand total for our JFK – KEF tickets? $230.98 per person. So cheap! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Granted, you’re only allowed one carry-on each. We’re not always the lightest packers so we’ll need to make some adjustments but it shouldn’t be a problem. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
